Miche Hoffer, world-class decathlete, formed the VasbySF track club in 2004. His love and passion for the sport, both as an athlete and as a mentor and coach, is the foundation of VasbySF.

Coach Miche’s wealth of knowledge and experience in the track & field world and his enthusiasm for helping athletes reach their highest goals have attracted athletes from beginners to elite levels, from youths to seniors to join VasbySF. Miche has been instrumental in introducing track & field to young athletes who would not have thought to give the sport a try, and continually inspires and motivates the most-seasoned athletes to keep driving and keep the fire going.

VasbySF instills in its members the pride in being an athlete and the humility in knowing that there is always more to learn and strive for. VasbySF is about good ‘work’ ethics and a sense of humor especially when at ‘work.’

Track & Field is a sport where running, jumping, and throwing all come into play. It is very common for athletes outside of track & field to train in the sport, as speed, strength, agility, and endurance are honed, adding to the skills involved in whatever primary sport one participates or competes in. In today’s competitive world of athletics, sports conditioning is a necessity that athletes, regardless of level and background, should not do without. Elite athletes know that utmost efficiency, consistent improvement, and higher abilities are achieved by participating in varied and year-round training programs.

VasbySF members are a mix of athletes from different sports backgrounds. Some members have been doing track for the majority of their athletic lives, others are just starting out. Some only do track and others pursue several sports along with track. VasbySF embraces the diversity of its athletes. With Coach Miche’s training as a decathlete and multi-events coach, VasbySF is an ideal environment for any athlete with the drive and discipline to attain higher goals.

(Vasby is the name of Miche’s Track Club in Sweden, where he was born and raised. VasbySF is the US counterpart that he started locally, in the hopes of bringing the spirit of his Swedish Track Club to Bay area athletes.)
